BABY DNA: STORE YOUR CHILD AND FAMILY'S DNA
DNA banking is a procedure that can cryopreserve the DNA of your child or someone in your family for many years. DNA can be obtained from a variety of sources, including blood. After extraction, the DNA is cryopreserved in special containers. Cryopreservation preserves DNA by preventing its degradation.

WHY IS IT WORTH IT TO STORE THE DNA?

It is important for the identification of new mutations
Some genetic mutations that are not yet detectable and are responsible for diseases that may be discovered in the future. Knowledge of these mutations makes it possible to prevent or at least mitigate the symptoms/consequences of genetically induced diseases.
It is possible to protect one’s own offspring
It is possible to determine whether the person who stored the DNA is able to pass on certain diseases to their offspring.
Promotes personalized medicine
Knowledge of a human’s DNA is of great importance in pharmacogenomics. Knowing the patient’s DNA helps doctors to determine the most appropriate drugs and treatment plans for the patient and to discard ineffective treatments from the outset. This type of personalized medicine is already being used to determine the tolerability, optimal dosage and efficacy of medicines for heart and cancer patients.
It is needed to identify a person
DNA testing is the best way to identify a person, as no two people have the same DNA. In addition, DNA can also be used to verify the presence or non-existence of biological relationships between individuals.
HOW DOES THE STORAGE OF MY BABY'S DNA WORK?

Upon arrival at the lab, a small amount of your baby’s umbilical cord blood is taken. The DNA is extracted and cryopreserved in a special capsule. The sample can be released at any time if required.

The DNA sample is cryopreserved for the duration of the contract. The retention period may be extended after the expiry of the contract period.
